Today’s rowing mileage consisted of two 30 minute online sessions plus a 2K online warm down, for a total of 15,196 meters. The only screenshots I’ll show below are of one of the 30 minute online sessions.
Happy rowing to you.

Happy rowing to you.
Today’s main rowing was online. There were two other guys who had setup/agreed to the session in advance and so I rowed according to their plan. The plan was 7x4r1:45. In other words, 7 intervals of 4 minutes each, with 1 minute 45 seconds rest after each interval. The 4 minute intervals were supposed to be done at 2K pace + 11 seconds and with a rating of 20 spm.
It was fun and I was happy to have company.
Happy father’s day to any and all fathers who read this.
Today’s indoor rowing was a total of 13,000 meters which is 8.08 miles according to the converter. The main part, which is the only one that will be displayed in this post, was a 10K online done with 4 guys who were in England and one who was also in America, though even he was a few thousand miles away, in Connecticut.
The additional 3,000 meters was a single 3K done as a warm down.
The 10K was fun, because all the other guys were going at a much faster pace than I was and that inspired me to row a bit faster and not take any breaks.
Happy rowing mileage to you.
Today’s indoor rowing started with a 3K warmup offline and finished with a moderate 6K online. The online piece was done in the company of two rowers who were in England.
Happy rowing miles to you.
Today’s activity was a little more than 4 miles of online rowing in a 30 minute session with six other people, who were located in various parts of the world.
Actually, if the 15 minute offline warmup is included, the total distance rowed today was about 6 1/4 miles.
Happy rowing miles to you.
A track star could run a 3,000 meter race in somewhere between 7 and 8 minutes. I did 3,000 meters at a very easy pace on the Concept 2 rowing machine today, and took about twice as long as it would have taken a track star to run the same distance.
Still… it managed to burn off about 170 calories, which is better than nada.
This morning I had a very early appointment which meant I had to leave the house even earlier which meant I had to rise from bed before dawn. That may have been related to why I didn’t feel like rowing another half marathon today.
Happy rowing, short or long distance.
Today was another HM at low HR for the sake of adding more distance reserve.
Happy distance doing to you.
The above photo shows one way to combine pushups with use of a rowing machine. But that’s not how I did it today.
Today was 1/2 marathon of rowing interspersed with pushups and other stuff. In other words, the 1/2 marathon was interrupted multiple times while the clock that was timing it kept on ticking, which is why it took so long.
Happy pushing and pulling with a rowing machine.
Today’s rowing was another easy half marathon with breaks.
Happy easy rowing to you.
I’m still doing a half marathon distance each day, in the effort to build up a comfortable “distance cushion” for those days when I’m not able to do any rowing.
Today I thought I’d do the half marathon online, in the company of at least one other person. But when I logged onto Oarbits, the name of the online rowing community’s get-together place on the internet, there was nobody else there. There was one other person showing to be there, but he didn’t respond when I spoke to him. This is “normal” … as “normal,” at least, as logging on and happening to find a lot of people logged on, chatting and doing things. I never know what I’ll find until I go there.
Today it was a virtual ghost town, as you can see from the screen shot below:
So I did the half marathon distance alone, but took several long breaks and rowed very slowly, watching videos about chess and also a video about exercise benefits.
Happy solo or otherwise rowing to you.
