The title about sums up today’s indoor rowing session. I had fun doing it and as usual I felt better afterwards than before it started.

Today’s rowing was a couple of short ones. First there was a 2536 meter piece, followed by a 500 meter piece. There was a little bit more in addition to those two, but it’s not worth mentioning.
The distance 2,536 was chosen so as to match the distance rowed yesterday by a training partner, DN. The 500 meter piece was done at a little bit faster pace than easy, so I guess it was “medium” and afterwards I ranked it among the Concept 2 rankings.

Today I managed to do some rowing. Instead of avoiding it. And Managed to do it fairly early in the morning. That was an accomplishment, because I’ve been having trouble with inertia lately. Inertia, “a tendency to do nothing or to remain unchanged, as “the bureaucratic inertia of government“” to use one common definition.
Because I had to go outside early this morning, to take care of some pack rat traps placed outside yesterday evening in the hopes of capturing a rat which had been targeting our car’s engine compartment as a place for its residence…. I was exposed to the super bright sunshine which is common in Arizona.
The rat was dealt with and I was “lit up” enough by the sunlight, to do some rowing.
The session was a preset distance of 6,818 meters. The distance was chosen by adding of the most recent three rowing sessions done by training partner DN.

Today’s main rowing accomplishment was to do some rowing. The session was 2,207 meters at a variable pace.

Today’s distance was chosen to match the total distance rowed by one of my training partners during the most recent 3 days she has done any rowing from July 19th through July 26th.
The session was recorded as a screen recording and those who want to row-along with it or race against it may find it at this location: Indoor Rowing 322 Calories 07272018

Today’s 10K session was posted as a screen recording on YouTube for anyone who wants to row-along with a low-energy 10K. At the pace at which I felt like rowing, it took quite a while for heart rate to raise much above 100.

Today’s rowing session was a time-constrained 5,000 meters which amounted to 300 calories.
A screen recording is available for rowing-along-with at: Indoor Rowing 300 Calories 07242018
If you row along with me using that screen recording, your calories may total other than the round number of 300 calories, depending on your pace.
Happy rowing to you.
Today’s was another 10K. I felt low energy this morning. Could it have been due to the lack of coffee before rowing? For whatever reason, the perception was of low energy. RowPro displayed an initial heart rate of 48, 47, 48 … so at the very least, I was almost as relaxed as if I were asleep. Then I took a deep breath, cleared my throat and adjusted feet to start rowing and heart rate started to rise.
A screen recording for rowing along with is available at this link: Indoor Rowing 570 Calories 07232018
For the calorie-conscious, you can see by the title of the link that total calories burned was 570. Get to the finish line ahead of me and you will burn a few more than I did.
Happy rowing to you.
Today’s indoor rowing session was another relatively short one, just 5 kilometers. I had a cup of coffee but no food before rowing and it didn’t seem to make any difference in heart behavior.
Though the effort for today’s 5K wasn’t a racing effort, I put the results in the Concept 2 online rankings anyway, because the more the merrier for anyone who likes to use the rankings as incentive. Perhaps there will be some people who look at the rankings before doing a 5K, to see who they want to try to place ahead of. That’s an handy way to have a race.

Today I slept in and then procrastinated about rowing by sitting and chatting with my better half. When I finally got around to rowing, I decided to compromise with the part of my mind which was being reluctant and limit the distance to 6K instead of 10. That seemed to make it happy.
One positive result of the procrastination today was that it resulted in me fasting longer than usual, since I’ve been restricting myself to only breaking fast after rowing. I’ve heard (in some lectures) that there are some repair jobs and other good things that the body’s mitochondria only do after a person has been fasting at least 12 hours. Another person said those things start to happen after only 11 hours of fasting, if a person works out. So today’s workout was done before breaking fast after 18 or 19 hours.
As a result, I feel like a new man. (Just kidding).
