2182 Plus A Few For Warmup

Today’s distance was chosen to match the distance of training partner FR which he rowed on June 11th. A 750 meter warmup was done first.

Today’s rowing session was totally free of “Nuisance Complications” as had been experienced during all of yesterday’s session.

Happy rowing to you.

2695 Meters With Nuisance Complications

Today’s main rowing was 2,695 meters, chosen because it matched the distance rowed by training partner DN on June 11th.  There was also a 750 meter warmup beforehand.

The “nuisance complications” were irregular heartbeat, which was so irregular that it wasn’t displayed most of the time.  When it was displayed, it was about 30% to 50% too high – way, way too high for the brief time and effort being expended.

Its back to normal now, but there’s no more rowing until tomorrow.

Happy rowing to you.

2399 Is Prime

Today’s distance of 2,399 meters was chosen to match the distance rowed by one of my training partners who rowed it on June 8th.  It is a prime number so the RowPro 5 for the Mac session was not divided into splits.

The session was preceded by a 750 meter warmup. During the last third of the main session distance, pace was increased a bit so as to raise heart rate to around 130 BPM.

Trouble After 2300 Meters

Today’s rowing session distance was chosen to match the distance rowed yesterday by one of my training partners, 3,485 meters.

Everything went well until the remaining distance counted down to about 1,200 meters and then heart rate became irregular.  So I slowed down a bit but HR didn’t get regular until an hour or more after the session ended.

Quick Heart Rate Recovery Is Good.

Today’s choice of rowing session distance was arrived at by summing up the distances rowed by one of my Concept 2 online logbook “training partners” which she rowed for the previous two days.

I’m currently letting her be my inspiration to row, by using something involving times or distance of her recent rowing sessions.

The distance amounted to 5,226 meters.  I started out at the easiest pace of the session and made the pace slightly less easy as the session progressed.  All-in-all, it was an easy session from start to finish and heart rate rapidly recovered during the two minutes immediately after the 5,226 meters were completed.

The above to charts show the displays of data logged by an Apple Watch for today’s rowing workout. The graph on the left is of the 5,226 meter session and the graph on the right is for the two minute period immediately following the workout. It shows the rate of HR recovery.

The session was divided into 26 consecutive splits and a screen recording was made, which is available for row-along at this link: Indoor Rowing 5226 meters 06062018

Happy rowing to you.

A Prime Number Training Partner

Today’s distance was chosen because it was the distance rowed yesterday by one of my training partners, who rowed it while she had RowPro 5 for the Mac in “just row” mode.

3023 meters happens to be a prime number so if you have read anything I said about RowPro 5 for the Mac having a bug show up if it tries to split a distance into unequal splits, you might have guessed why I did it all in one split.
