From 40th to 38th Place

The screen recording of this 100 meter sprint includes no warmup or warm down because it was done late in the day and would have taken longer to upload than I wanted to wait at that time of the day.. So you can rustle up your own warmup and warm down before rowing to race against it. 🙂

It was faster than yesterday’s, so I moved up a couple places in the online standings.

The effort displayed in this graph resulted in a move up from 40th to 38th place in the rankings.

Tied

This 100 m was a race against yesterday’s (using yesterday’s as the pace boat in RowPro) and because I didn’t start out fast enough I only managed to tie my yesterday’s time.

From 45 to 40 in 100 Meters

This 100 meter sprint result moved me up in rankings from 45th to 40th place.

This 100 meter rowing sprint was another increase in pace and it finally resulted in an advancement in place in the 100 meter online rankings, from 45th place to 40th place. I’m not alone in 40th place, however, because there are three other guys with the same time also in 40th place.

There were a few other erg pieces today.

45 For the Third Time

Graphs for today’s 100 meter sprint.

The recorded workout today was another 100 meter sprint as the focus. It was faster than yesterday’s but for the third time in a row I’m in the same 45th place in online rankings for 100m. The screen recording starts and finishes with 5 minutes of warmup/down.

45 to 45

The pace line (blue one) is higher/more level than in yesterday’s 100 m sprint and it resulted in a higher average pace . . . but not enough to advance even one place in the rankings.

The recorded workout today was another 100 meter sprint as the focus today. It was faster than yesterday’s but not enough to advance in the rankings again for the second day in a row and as of this morning I’m still in 45th place.

Faster But No Higher

Today’s 100m graph. You can see from blue pace line that I’m restraining the effort after getting up to speed. That is deliberate, so that each day’s improvement will be small. Ignore the words “Click and drag…” at the top of this image because this image is a screenshot, not a live graph like what you will find if you click the link to the online logbook.

The recorded workout today was another 100m sprint. Time was improved but I didn’t move up in the rankings. Maybe tomorrow’s 100m will see movement higher in the rankings. The screen recording includes a 1K warmup and warmdown.

Racing Against Myself

A couple of equally matched boats… perfect for racing!

To have a rowing race with RowPro all you need is a little imagination. Of course online rowing with other real people is the most fun but you can’t always have that at the time you want it.

Today I had a 100 meter race against my yesterday self. In other words, the pace boat against which I raced today was generated in RowPro by yesterday’s data. I managed to win the race. Congratulations today self! Sorry about that, yesterday self. As a result I moved up one place, from 44th to 43rd in the rankings. Screen recording includes warmup and warm down.

A Tad Bit Faster

The focus workout today was another sprint. The target for this 100 meter rowing piece was just a tad bit faster than yesterday’s. By that is meant: I managed to move up one place, from 45th to 44th in the rankings. Screen recording includes both warmup and warm down.

The graph for a short sprint is very plain and uncluttered.

Trying a Couple of Shorties

Sprint lanes.

Today’s focus was a couple of 100 meter sprints, one each on SkiErg and rowing machine. Each was finished almost as soon as it started. The focus workout for today’s screen recording was the 100 meter rowing sprint. I aimed for a pace of about 1:55 for 80 meters and then a little faster the last 20 meters. Short but fun. It was an experiment that left room for improvement. The screen recording includes warmup and warm down.

Avoiding Tachyness Today and Another Step Up

Tachyness is a made-up word unless enough people want to use it like it is being used here. Here it is being used to mean a state of having tachycardia.

Yesterday, beginning a few hours after yesterday’s focal workout of a 500m sprint and 750 meter warmdown, atrial tachycardia set in. It persisted all evening and into the next morning. Taking a couple tablets which were a relatively heavy duty dose of extract of the root of valerian herb seemed to quell it. But I’d rather it didn’t happen in the first place, because it caused a loss of about three hours sleep.

After thinking about yesterday’s workout I decided that the problem might have been triggered by the combination of 30 second wait time after yesterday’s sprint and that the warm down of 750 meters was too brief.

Thinking of those two factors today, the 30 minute wait time after today’s sprint was cancelled and the warm down began almost immediately. Also, today’s warm down was more than twice as long as yesterday’s, at 2,000 instead of 750 meters.

500 meter sprint today

The goal was an average pace of 1:54.7/500 m or faster so as to move up in season rankings. It was done . Plan was for average pace of about 1:54.7 until last 100 m then increase pace a little to the finish. Screen recording starts with 750 meter warmup and finishes with the 2,000 meter warm down.

Warm down was longer today than yesterday’s
